The started clean and smelling so fine
By day 5 they were muddy and dirty
With no worries and no trouble on their minds

On day 13 came their greatest challenge
The biggest and angriest rapid they call Lava Falls
Their skill and their courage was their only advantage
Over the monstrous boat sucking holes and cheese grating rocks

They rowed in with their oars a blazing
5 rafts looking for that perfect line
Their were voices a hollering and waves a thrashing
Loving that muddy water like it was fine wine

She’s a question and an answer
She’ll warm your heart and blow your mind

Days, weeks, decades and centuries
Millenia and eons, she’s seen it all
Past the dinosaurs and mammoths and all of the wreckage
Created by all of the creatures big and small

She turns matter into energy, essence into spirit
She is many and she is one
She is life and she is wonderful
Mysterious, scary and deliriously fun
